iOS 12 release date



iOS 12 initial date is today, Monday 17th, 2018. It is designed to make your iPhone and iPad experience more better, faster, more responsive, and more delightful.

iOS 12 was introduced by Craig Federighi at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference keynote address on June 4, 2018. The first developer beta version was released after the keynote presentation, with the first public beta releasing three weeks after on June 25, 2018.

Apple Inc., being the successor to iOS 11. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 4, 2018. As been said, iOS 12 similar to iOS 11, but contains galore functions and battery-saving life, as well as some functionalities to some apps which was released to the public on September 17, 2018.


Performance

Apple mentioned the performance of the device to be up to 70% faster swipe to Camera. Enhancements were made to the camera application specifically to make launching it and taking photos a quicker experience.
Whether you’re using your iPhone or iPad, iOS has been enhanced for a faster and more responsive experience all around. Things you do all the time, like launching Camera and typing with the keyboard, Apple also said, the keyboard display is 50% faster, which mean has been faster than ever. And there are even more significant improvements when you’re doing a lot on your device at once. As well, can run up to 2x faster app launches under heavy workload. Wow! That means you are good to use as many apps on a long run.



Device screen


The device screen usage information in iOS 12 has been updated to include a feature that allows users to track how much time they are spending on their devices and what they are doing. The system provides reports broken into categories.

Siri Shortcuts

Siri Shortcuts will let you find a missing key. A numerous device which allow users to set up shortcuts for applications. Shortcuts are automated actions that the user can ask Siri to perform.

ARKit 2

ARKit has been updated to include the ability for users to share their view with other iPhones. ARKit 2 additionally allows full 2D image tracking and incorporates the ability to detect 3D objects.

CarPlay

CarPlay features the ability to run third party navigation applications.

iPad

iPads can now use the gestures that are found on the iPhone X. The Voice Memos and Stocks apps are now available for iPads. When pulling up the dock whilst in an app, this gesture is now used to return to the home screen. Control Center is now separated from the app switcher on iPad.

App features


Messages

This has been another amazing feature you can find on iOS 12. Messages in iOS 12 introduces a new type of customizable Animoji called "Memoji". It will let user to create a 3D character of themselves or whatever. Apple also introduced Koala, Tiger, Ghost and T-Rex Animojis alongside.

FaceTime

This feature has been wonderful and which has been updated now to supports video and audio with up to 32 people at once. FaceTime also give allowance for Animoji and Memoji. As mentioned by Apple, the ability for grouped FaceTime will not be available in the initial release of iOS 12, but in a future software update this autumn.

Photos

Photos now supports suggestions through a "For You" section and will make sharing recommendations and styles.

Notifications

Notifications are now grouped and have a "manage" tab, to turn off notifications for that app or to deliver them quietly. Now, very easy take control your notifications. Just like Screen Time gives you more insight into how you use your devices, Instant Tuning gives you new ways to reduce interruptions throughout your day. Manage your notifications in real time from the Lock screen, send notifications from a specific app to Notification Center, or turn them off altogether. Siri also makes intelligent suggestions about your alerts based on how you interact with them. And message threads and notification topics are grouped together, so it’s easier to see what’s important at a glance.

Turn on Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb now has a feature called "Do Not Disturb During Bedtime" to automatically send notifications to history, send calls to voicemail (can be changed to Favorites/Repeated calls) and has a darker screen to assist sleep. However, if the user taps the screen (or when the user's wake time passes) notifications are shown.

Voice Memos & Stocks

The Voice Memos and Stocks apps are now on iPads. Voice Memos and Stocks have had a design refresh, and the latter has integrated Apple News.

Apple Books

iBooks was renamed Apple Books, and the app was refreshed, with a Discover Tab, Book Store, and more.

Safari

Safari receives an update to Intelligent Tracking Prevention. This includes a feature which allows the user to disable social media "like" and "share" buttons.[17]

Maps

Apple Maps has been "rebuilt" by relying on first-party map data instead of using map data provided by third parties.

All devices supported by iOS 11 are also supported by iOS 12.
