It was recently announced as some unfaithful hackers
penetrated into Facebook and stole 50 million credentials. We don't know
exactly what's wrong but initially update will still keep on.
“On Tuesday, we discovered that an attacker tapped a
technical vulnerability to steal access tokens that would admit them to log
into Facebook server and were able to hacked about 50 million people’s accounts
on Facebook,” wrote CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a post to his own Facebook page. “We do not yet know
whether these accounts were misused but we are continuously looking into this
and will update when we learn more.” Said The Verge
Though it was said that these hackers threatened Mark
Zuckerberg that they will delete his Facebook account. Who never can say if
those hackers were in charge of the post on Zuck's page.
A Taiwanese “white hat” hacker claims he’ll broadcast
himself hacking Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page on Sunday, reports Bloomberg.
Writing in a Facebook post to his 26,000
followers, Chang Chi-yuan anticipated to delete the Facebook Zuck's account,
and spread on Facebook Live. Chang is a well-known hacker in Taiwan, according
to Bloomberg.
Chang, and his Facebook page, are listed as a “Special
Contributor” in Line Corp.’s bug bounty hall of fame for 2016, and was
reportedly sued by a local bus operator for hacking into its system and buying
a ticket for a single Taiwanese dollar equivalent to 3US cent. The hacker has also
posted screenshots of Facebook’s responses to his bug reports.
I'm announcing this because we never know may be you are
affected or not. But Mark Zuckerberg faces law for the vulnerability. The
lawsuit was filed today in US District Court for the Northern District of
California. The charge says Facebook is guilty of unlawful business practices,
deceit by concealment,
negligence, and violations of California’s Customer Records Act. The
complainants want statutory damages and penalties awarded to them and other
class members.
I think you shouldn't take it other way round. We all love Facebook. It's a
social network though, and we should always expect such as far as hackers are
out there penetrating to many networks. But just be careful of your data online
these days.
