Keep Your Personal Data Safe in You in 21st Century

We are wholly feeling how technology is being innovative every single day. Most especially the use of Artificial Intelligence and social networking, but my article will be based on the Horror Zone of using social networking platforms in this 21st century.

If you've not found out what I'm going to make clear today, I think you should read it well and absorb for better understanding. Still in touch? Now, let's go on. Social network these days are so risky that our information is open to vulnerability. Therefore, we need to know why this 21st century is getting tougher in technologies.

Follow me as I proceed. The way we have been posting our personal data on every social platform like our pictures, family and friends’ pictures, phone number, bank details, home address, even our feelings etc. You have to be aware if your data are safe on those platforms. It's really so painful that these people assured us to keep our data safe and will never be shared to any other parties, but still failed us by selling our data to advertisers and security agencies.

Are you aware of this selling of your data to advertisers and security agencies? If you don't, then read on. As we always believe our data are crucial or valuable to us, but we do share them on every social network we use. We are all used to chatting and posting our feelings, environment, location etc. on social platform like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. Ok, you believe every data you do provide on those platforms are safe? No, sorry so say, most of them do sell your data even including the phone number you use for Two-factor Authenticator.

These security agencies, most especially advertisers do know more about you, what you like or dislike, your full name, your date of birth, parents' name, phone number, when you like to be online and stay offline, not to mention all. Advertisers do know more about you and they use it for their target and business schemes. Scary, right?

Giridhari Venkatadri, Piotr Sapliezynski, Alan Mislove and Elena Lucherini observed that Facebook gives advertisers the numbers you use for Two-factor Authenticator. Said, xda-developers. To make this clear, the secrete number you do use to securely log into your account that shouldn't be associated with it, are no longer secure anymore.

Merely looking into this social platform of a thing, we do use these platforms for free without paying a dime nor subscribe. But these people will pay server bills to make sure their services are highly available, and the only means they can use to generate that is through advertisement. Meanwhile, it is affecting our own personal data which don't suppose to be exposing at all. I shouldn't blame us for putting our original data on those platforms, putting fake details never worth it because it will sound untrustworthy as your friends online will want to believe you.

Moreover, you have to think twice before you upload your picture or filling your phone numbers, date of birth, parents' name, bank details and home address. These are the most privacy we need to be careful about and keeping them safe with you. Not to be leaked nor hacked.

Not confusing right?

Finally, if I'm to consider the right way to use social network, it would have been better to always go for paid social network, but I still believe with them our data never safe as well. Any platform you use either free like Facebook, twitter etc. or paid like OkCupid, Zoosk etc, though most of these paid platform are dating site, but paying for the service never mean your data is safe. Just always make sure you think twice before inputting vital information mentioned above in any of social network you find yourself.
